About the place

Hi!

My name is Noemi, I’m 25 years old, and starting from the end of June or early July, I’m looking for a housemate to help create a cozy, welcoming home together in my new apartment in Lombok, Utrecht. I recently bought the place, so over the next month, I’ll be doing a few renovations (painting, floors, kitchen, general cleaning). I’ll also be moving in myself at the end of June. Right now, I’m not able to cover the monthly costs entirely on my own, which is why I’m looking to share the apartment for the time being. Also, the rent is excluding utilities, and there will be some additional costs on top — I still need to figure those out, since it’s an owner-occupied property."

The apartment is 72m² and is located on Laan van Nieuw Guinea — just under 10 minutes from the city center. It’s right by the water, near De Munt, and around the corner from Kanaalstraat, a lively and vibrant neighborhood with lots going on.

A little about me:
I grew up in Utrecht, but I’ve also lived in New York, Los Angeles, and Amsterdam over the past few years. I studied at the New York Film Academy, and after graduating during the pandemic, I wasn’t able to keep working in the US, so I came back to the Netherlands. I now work in film and write screenplays. I’ve also worked a lot in hospitality, and occasionally I help out with home care. I’m very social, but I also really value having my own space and respect that in others too.

Who/what I’m looking for:
Ideally, I’m looking for someone who’s already working and has moved on from the full-on student phase. For me, it’s important that we connect on a personal level, enjoy doing things together now and then, and create a warm and comfortable home — while still having our own space and privacy. I also really value a clean living environment, so it’s important we both take care of the space. I don’t mind where you’re from, as long as we can communicate in English. I’m a creative person, so if you share that kind of passion or ambition, that’s great — but in the end, it’s really about the personal connection.
