Aert van Neslaan
About the place
THE APARTMENT I just bought this new apartment, and I’m really happy with it, and I have two extra bedrooms, so there’s space for a housemate, which I'm happy about. Eventually, I’d love to find a third housemate for the third bedroom, but because of some regulations, we’ll probably have to wait a bit before doing that. For now, the shared spaces include a 23m² living room, plus an extra bedroom (11 m2) that we can share as an office/extra lounge where you can retreat a bit. In practice, I don’t think I’ll be using the extra bedroom much, since I plan to create a cozy sitting area in my own room. So, it will mostly be yours to use! The bedroom is small, 8m². It’s 1.98m wide and currently has a custom-made bed, which I’m taking over from the current owners. If you’d like, we can build a loft bed together to create more space for you. But especially in the beginning when the third room is not there yet, you’ll also have the extra lounge room if you want a place to have some alone time. I’ll only be moving into the apartment at the end of April, so the photos I’ve added show how it’s currently furnished (a bit boring for my taste). By the time I move in, it’ll be empty. I’m still figuring out what to do with the living room, so I’d love to hear your input! It would be fun to decorate and paint it together. I’ve also added two photos of my current bedroom to give a vibe impression - it’s kind of my cozy little nest, but I think the living room could use some brighter colors :) There’s also a balcony that gets sunlight all day in summer, which is really nice. The apartment is located on Aert van Neslaan in Oegstgeest. It’s an 8-minute bike ride to Leiden Central Station or the Klinkenbergerplas, and there is a small shopping center across from the apartment for your groceries. The rental price is all-inclusive. ROOMMATE So in the beginning, it’ll just be the two of us living here. For now, it looks like I can only rent out the bedroom for a maximum of one year under the "hospitaverhuur" rules. This might change if the law is updated, which is expected in 2026, but for now, it's better to assume it’d only be for a year. I enjoy living in a tidy home, so a clean kitchen, living room, and bathroom, and I’m looking for someone who enjoys the same. I also love sharing meals and doing fun things together sometimes, but of course, there’s no obligations. I often have friends over for dinner or to make some music, and your friends are also very welcome in the house :) I’m 25 years old, and during the week I work as a psychologist at an addiction center in The Hague. In my free time, I enjoy everything that makes life worthwhile - making music, being in nature, reading, sports, bouldering, hiking, doing theater, and of course, I love doing all these things even more with friends and family. Recently, I’ve started organizing Tiny Tiny Desk concerts, where I invite my musical friends into my small bedroom to sing and play some together. Of course, you’d be more than welcome to join! I’m looking for someone who’s in a similar stage of life (around 23-30 years old) and also actively enjoys living with others. Personally, I love those small moments of connection you have with housemates/colleagues/other people you see very often, because it just feels like a natural way of being together.
