About the place

From October 10, a room will likely become available in our house. The rent is around €750 per month. The house is within walking distance of the city center and has a direct bus connection to the university. By bike, it takes about 17 minutes. The room has a small balcony with a view of the Waal river.

We are a Dutch-German couple (Julia, 32, founder of an online violin school; Sascha, 37, psychotherapist) with a 2.5-year-old daughter and another baby on the way. We live on the lower two floors of our four-story house.

The top two floors (with their own small kitchen and bathroom) are shared by an Italian PhD student, Camilia (26, chemistry), and currently a girl from the Philippines who will be leaving in October.

Camilia, Sascha, and Julia all enjoy outdoor activities and hiking. Sascha and Camilia also like watching movies. Julia enjoys dancing (e.g. lindy hop) and making music. From time to time (about once a month) we plan a house dinner together, where we cook vegan or vegetarian meals.

Every two weeks, a cleaner comes (included in the rent).

In the attic there is a small kitchen corner shared with Camilia, equipped with an oven with microwave function, toaster, and coffee machine. It’s not ideal for passionate cooks, but very practical for preparing small meals.

The bathroom is also shared with Camilia. The family downstairs shares a second bathroom.

Important to know: Because of the family living downstairs, the room is not suitable for night owls, people who like to host frequent parties/guests, or play loud music. Smoking and drugs are not allowed. Quiet hours are between 22:00 and 7:00. Our newborn baby won’t always stick to those hours 🥲, so a little tolerance for baby sounds would be appreciated. Smoking and drugs are strictly forbidden.
