Goselingstraat
About the place
What I offer: - Sunshine both front and back of the house, from morning to sunset - Large garden to relax and drink your morning coffee - Storage for your bike (1 per person) - Quiet, young, and friendly neighborhood - Language & cultural exchange of any kind are encouraged. We currently speak English, French, German, Spanish, Dutch and more. I would describe us as mature, busy and helpful. - 5-20 minutes to all important locations via bike: central station, shopping mall, supermarket, university, hospital, … - Excellent bus & train connection for short and long-distance travel - All rooms offered are freshly-ish renovated and furnished. Some pictures are old, some are newer - I, the landlord, live downstairs. If anything requires fixing, which is rarely the case, it usually takes less than 1-2 days - There is a Wi-Fi booster upstairs to ensure good connectivity - A room of 6m² for storage and laundry is available next to the room advertised - Larger room of 11m² includes an in-wall cupboard, adding extra space for additional furniture. Bed & desk provided. The monthly rent is 680€, utilities included, and the deposit is one month’s rent (680€). The earliest date to move in is preferably 1st of June, but we can discuss earlier arrival by up to 1 week - Why is the room available? The current tenant, one of the two tenants upstairs, will live abroad for an internship and will be back September 2027. The minimum contract duration is 12 months, but I strongly prefer candidates who can see themselves live in the house from the 1st of June 2026 until the 31st of August 2027 (approx. 15 months). If life happens and you need to leave a month early or stay a month longer, we can arrange that - Everything is set up, so you can move in with next to no preparation (suitcase & go) - I cover costs for the common areas (e.g. toilet paper, garbage disposal, Wi-Fi, ...) - The costs of electricity, water, and gas are included in the rent What I expect: - Students or young professionals - You have to be able to view the house in person - Responsible person. The house must be clean, so you're expected to clean up after yourself (dishes, trash, toilet, shower, ...). - I expect you to be independent. I do like to help people; I do not like to babysit them - I strongly prefer people who know how to spend their time. Be out there, live your life - Non-smoking inside the house. In the garden is fine - No parties. We tried, it was always a mess - No pets Who I am: I was born and raised in a German city close to the Dutch border, in my 30s, engaged to my Spanish partner. I currently work for a SaaS company, enjoy traveling with a purpose, learning about fitness and longevity, playing chess (I suck, but I love it) and marathon running. I occasionally buy random paintings and sculptures for unreasonable prices. I believe penguins cannot be trusted (it's a long story). Speaking from experience, I get an average of 150-200 applicants whenever I put a room online. I hate to say this, but a roof over your head has become a privilege, at least in (or close to) the city. Kamernet is essentially a mix of competition and matchmaking. Try your best, tell me about yourself, and make it easy for me to work through all the messages. I've got a lof of experience being a landlord by now, so the "fake it till you make it"-approach will not work. In an era of AI, try to be yourself. Best of luck Tarek
