About the place

Hi,
At the end of this month a room will become available in a (student)house along the Hoornsediep, just South West of the old city-center. Situated at the end of an almost dead-end, with the canal and small grass-strip directly in front of the house, the house lies in a rather quiet area. Many years ago half of the housing in the neighbourhood has been demolished, and in the meantime replaced with modern (living)buildings, some construction is still taking place to the right and behind the block of houses.

The apartment is the upper one of a house in a row of six, the room itself is almost 17 m2, it’s the front-living room, facing the water-canal.

You’ll be sharing the kitchen, (rather new) bathroom, etc. with your two housemates. The back-living room with a balcony looking South West can be used by all three. In Summer, the water-edge (in the front of the house) is also a perfect place to chill!
In the attic you can store some things, like a suitcase (saves space in your room), and there is space to dry your laundry (is also possible outside at the balcony).

Welcome is somebody who is reliable, studies seriously, takes good care of the apartment, and has positive contact with housemates and neighbours.

The room will be available only up & till January 2026 (so, from Nov. 2024 that’ll be 15 months). The new rules for renting out rooms in the Netherlands allow renting out for a specific period of time (less than two years) only to students that live outside Groningen (in the Netherlands or abroad).
