About the place

Dear future roommate,

Starting March 1, a room will become available in our beautiful apartment in Amsterdam. The apartment has a kitchen (incl. dishwasher), living room, huge bathroom, and separate toilet. There is also a washing and drying machine. 

The apartment is perfectly located in the heart of Amsterdam on the Vijzelstraat. Streetcar stop Rembrandtplein is only a 3-minute walk away. Furthermore, the house is in the middle of Amsterdam's shopping area: it is only a 2-minute walk to Kalverstraat and the flower market. Cycling to central station takes about 10 minutes. If you are worried about your bike: there is a secure bike park (open 7:00-23:00h, the first 24h free) around the corner from our building. In other words, our apartment is super super central. 

We are currently with three roommates. One of our roommates is leaving next month. So we need a new person for her room. It will be a one-year contract with the possibility of a one-year extension (details can be discussed when we meet). 

We enjoy our own lives, but we definitely enjoy eating together when we are home at the same time and everyone has their own cleaning chores. (Note: There is no obligation to be “home for dinner” or anything like that). We are looking for someone who also has their own life but enjoys the company and likes to do fun things together. We want someone who is clean and neat. This is a very important part!

You will live with Ana (23), who is currently working at an architecture firm and also pursuing a master's degree, and me (Senna, 24) working full time at a fashion brand. We are pretty relaxed at home. Big parties at our house is not really what we want to do - although having drinks together on weekends is always fun! 

We know that renting living space is expensive in Amsterdam. Good news: the room in our apartment is available for €600 (€500 rent + €100 service charge), with the possibility that depending on the use of gas/light/water you might have to pay something on top of that at the end of the year. There are also additional costs like Wifi, garbage and water tax.



Now some information about the room. It is about 6M2 at the back of the house. So you won't be bothered by the bustling life at the front ;). The bed already stays in the room, so you don't need to bring your own bed. Besides the room, there's also plenty of space in the common areas to chill and/or study/work. And there is a library not far for those who like to study quietly. 



We are looking for a woman who is between 21 and 25 years old. We both speak native Dutch, but we don't mind speaking English. To make sure you fit, we would like to schedule a meeting in person or via Zoom before we possibly offer the room. It is very important to know that we are a strictly smoke-free and drug-free house.
