Lekstraat
About the place
I am living alone, my two children are living on their own and I would like now to have some company. I am retired, was working my whole life at the university as professor (computing science and cognitive psychology). I have a nice garden, working in it is my new hobby; I like to cook but also I like to learn new dishes! So we have to see what we can do together. My hobbies are reading, especially about history, e.g. history of Amsterdam. Further, I like to watch soccer, Ajax is (still) my favorite team, and like to follow professional bicycling. I would like to see an independent tenant but at the same time I am happy to provide assistance when needed and to tell you things about Amsterdam and the Netherlands. I am curious to the life where you come from, and I hope that the same applies to you. Preferably you are studying at one of the universities in Amsterdam and put your study on the first place. The apartment is part of an apartment building with four floors and is situated at the ground floor. It has two living rooms and two sleeping rooms, bathroom, toilet and terrasse with a nice garden. You will have a private room, and we share the (big) living kitchen, bathroom (with shower and bath) and (separate) toilet. I will have then a private room and sleeping room. The house has also a nice terrasse and garden which we can enjoy both. Your room is a simple room (12 m2) with a big window, it has two built-in wardrobes. There is sufficient space for an 1-person bed, sitting chair, small computer table and office chair. Location: the house is not far from the city center (15 minutes on bike) and well connected to public transport (line 4, 12, 62 and 65). It is near several main railway stations; South, RAI and Amstel station (each 5-10 minutes biking). Most of the buildings of the Vrije University and Amsterdam University are nearby. The house is located in a quiet street with a nice green little parc in front in which many people also relax. The neighborhood (Rivierenbuurt) has many shops, fancy not-expensive restaurants and the famous Albert Cuyp market is also close by (15 minutes walking).
