Veluwelaan
About the place
Due to a long trip with our family, we are looking for someone to look after our apartment on the edge of the Rivierenbuurt in Amsterdam (near the Pijp). That means emptying the mailbox, watering the plants, keeping them dry/heated and above all enjoying the house and the neighbourhood. Our apartment has lots of light, 2 bedrooms, 2 balconies and a communal back garden with picnic tables, toys and trampoline. It is small (75m2), but nice and zen. Especially when you are travelling and have to/want to work, there is a good workplace set up and I can really enjoy the sunlight, greenery in front of the windows and the various beautiful walks in the area. Location It is a quiet, child-friendly neighbourhood with lots of greenery. That is also the reason why my wife and I have been living here for 8 years. Within 5-10 minutes you are in nature and within 10 minutes you are also in the hustle and bustle of the Pijp. We love this quiet and green neighbourhood with many parks, playgrounds and the Amstel river. But also cozy terraces and shops. The popular Maasstraat with authentic shops, trendy restaurants and Amsterdam cafes, are right around the corner (2 min walk). If you like walking, running, rowing or (race) cycling or other sports, then you have a wide choice and variety. The Amstel River, Beatrix Park and the large Amstel Park (our favorite) within 5 min walking distance. And if you really want to get out into nature, within 10 minutes of running you are 'really' outside between the mills, farms and pleasure boats. Or do you feel like swimming? The Miranda swimming pool is also within a 5-minute walk. Prefer a bit more hustle and bustle and (nightlife) fun? It is a 5-10 minute bike ride to the famous Pijp. Together with the Jordaan the most popular neighborhood of Amsterdam full of shops, good restaurants, bars, clubs etc. Are you staying with a child? The neighborhood is very child-friendly with various playgrounds, playgrounds, petting zoo, beautiful swimming pool (Mirandabad), midget golf and other activities within 5-10 minutes walking distance. As for public transport: Bus, tram, metro station and even train station (RAI) is around the corner of the street. With which you are in the Pijp within a few minutes or in the center within 15 minutes. But the most fun is to explore Amsterdam by bike. You can rent one around the corner at the train station for € 4.45 per day or you can If necessary, use our two bicycles.
