Hello there! I'm a self-employed multidisciplinary creative professional (photographer/creative director/media background) who relocated to the Netherlands from the U.S. in February. I have a valid visa & residence permit, a business registered with the KvK, a growing network of Dutch friends and a sense of community, having previously spent extended stays in the NL twice in two years. This time, my move is permanent. I have never felt more at home than I do with my feet in the ground in the Netherlands. I am in LOVE with Het Gooi region, where I'm and am temporarily staying. I know every trail, every neighborhood, farm and public transport access from Bussum, Huizen and Blaricum to Laren and Hilversum. I'm also familiar with Naarden, LOVE Baarn, Hoorn, Haarlem, Amersfoot and Den Haag - where I have friends. I'm aware of the housing shortage, and will happily consider any availability within a 90-minute commute by public transportation to Amsterdam, where much of my work seems to be. I have an excellent rental history and personal references and I care for my space. I have a green thumb, love people, adore animals, art, am newly enthusiastic about golf, opera, and even the raindrops most complain about - there's serenity in gray days, too! I would love my independence and a studio or apartment, but I also understand the housing shortage yields few or unaffordable rentals, so I'd be open to discussing sharing in a bright, comfortable place with someone kind and respectful, who appreciates some privacy and room to breathe. :) I have no pets, but huge bonus if you do! ;) Registration is necessary. I'm originally from Germany, studied and worked in Design in Weimar, and I'm someone who genuinely loves shared living. I've lived in shared apartments for 5 years, so I know what makes it work: mutual respect, clear boundaries, being there for each other, and keeping shared spaces clean and comfortable. Living together well is something I take seriously – and enjoy. Outside of studies I love cycling, hiking, sitting in cafés, and exploring new places. I'm looking forward to building a real home, not just a temporary stay. What I bring along: a great vinyl/CD collection, useful household appliances, and furniture for shared spaces if needed. Hoi, mijn naam is Artemis en ik ben 21 jaar oud. Ik ben momenteel student Bewegingswetenschappen in Amsterdam en begin vanaf september met Rechtsgeleerdheid in Leiden. Daarom zoek ik nu een kamer in Leiden. Ik sta graag in de keuken en hou van nieuwe receptjes uitproberen. Ook ben ik een groot muziekliefhebber en ga ik graag naar concerten. Het lijkt me supergezellig om met mijn huisgenoten op te trekken maar het is natuurlijk ook helemaal goed als iedereen af en toe wat meer zijn eigen ding doet. I am a friendly and positive woman from the Northen part of Europe and Im looking for a home due to upcoming relocation to The Netherlands. I currently work for a large multi national company and am relocating from an office in Sweden to one of our offices in Leiden. Im passionate about my job and very much looking forward to work with my colleagues in Leiden. I work as an IT specialist in multiple disciplines and have a lot of responsibility when it comes to people and systems. Im generally well liked by everybody due to being both multicultural and multilingal which means I get along very well with people of different ethnicity, culture and background. I am an easy going person by nature with an open mind to life. I am also very curious about everything, especially different cultures and languages which means I currently speak five languages with more planned in the future, dutch being the next one. As with my job Im also very responsible in my daily life and keep all aspects of it in good order, especially when it comes to my home and paying the bills on time. As a non smoker I prefer my surroundings smoke free although I can tolerate tobacco smoke to some extent as I have full understanding of people needing to smoke. I dont drink alcohol but enjoy it when people around me are having a swell time over beer or wine. At the same time. I dont do drugs but am liberal when it comes to the views on drugs. My general rule is, I dont do drugs but I dont put my nose in what other people do. When not working I enjoy spending my time at home or walking around with my photographic camera. Im an avid amatour photographer and shoot both in digital and on film. As I am a computer nerd by nature I prefer spending the time at home tinkering with my computers and doing online activities. Next to that I like to spend the evenings watching films or series or reading a good book. When it comes to my home Im very protective of it and I have the need to keep everything in order. While not a party type of any sort I do understand the value of inviting people to the home for some fun but generally I prefer meeting people out on the town so during weekends I might prefer to spend the whole day in one of Europes big cities for some fun.
