Hi, I'm Dominik. In June I was admitted to study Computer Science at Saxion University and started organizing my new life as a first year student in Enschede looking for accommodation. I come from a multicultural family - my mother is of Slovak origin and my father is of Colombian origin, so I have both nationalities and I have applied in Saxion University with my Slovak nationality, although I currently reside with my family in the capital of Colombia, Bogota. I am 17 years old and I have just finished my secondary school in Bogota, but very soon I will turn 18 and I consider myself mature enough to move away from my family and embark on a new path at Saxion University. In my multicultural family I have learned since I was little to travel a lot and enjoy adventures of all kinds. From a very young age I have started racing swimming training and today I am the performance swimmer affiliated with the Swimming Federation of Colombia and also of Slovakia. I hope to continue with this hobby also in Holland, since I like sports in general. Outside of sports, perhaps like most young people of my age, I like music and video games. I come from very far away (Colombia) and I have faith that living this way I will be able to adapt much easier to my new life and make lasting friendships with mutual support. Being an athlete since I was little, I am used to sharing with my peers and providing support when required, I am a friendly and social person. Coming from a multicultural family I think I was raised to be respectful and open-minded. Hello! I am a prospective student at Rijksuniversiteit Groningen starting September, and I'm looking for a room to rent for the duration of my studies. I've lived in flatshares for most of my previous studies, so I'm well-accustomed to living with others! I've also lived in a lot of different countries before - Germany, France, Canada, Mexico, India and Japan for example. I love getting to know new countries, new people and overall, cultural exchange and openness are very important to me when living abroad, especially towards the host country. As a roommate, I value exchange, respect and cleanliness in my sleeping area. I believe communication on how to live together comfortably is key. Is there a cleaning plan, or not? Ik ben momenteel druk bezig met mijn eindexamens en volgend jaar start ik met de studie Elektrotechniek aan de TU Delft! Daarom ben ik op zoek naar een kamer in een gezellig huis met een fijne sfeer en leuke huisgenoten. Ik ben Nederlands, met Boliviaanse en Franse roots. Ik ben sociaal en vind het leuk om tijd door te brengen met vrienden en hopelijk ook met toekomstige huisgenoten. Tegelijkertijd waardeer ik ook mijn rust. Verder hou ik van sport: ik heb jarenlang gevoetbald en speel daarnaast graag schaak. Koken vind ik ook heel leuk. Daarnaast heb ik piano gespeeld, al staat dat momenteel even op pauze.

Ik zal aankomende studiejaar mijn 2-jaar master’s opleiding beginnen aan Universiteit Utrecht Gewenste huurtermijn: 1-2 jaar Ik heb wat rustiger hobbies zoals knutselen, en ik kook graag. Een rustige woningplek is wel belangrijk voor mij en hoewel ik het mooi vind om sociaal te zijn, zou ik geen groot feest hosten, ik zou liever mijn kamer netjes houden.
