A little bit about myself: I am from Cyprus, I’m 22 years old and i’m moving from Amsterdam to Rotterdam to do a Maritime and Transport Law masters degree in the Erasmus University :) Fun fact: this will actually be my second master’s degree! I just finished my LLM in Public International Law at the University of Amsterdam. Before that, I lived in Groningen for three years where i did my bachelors degree. So I think it’s fair to say I’ve become quite attached to the Netherlands, I already know (and genuinely enjoy) the Dutch lifestyle, which makes staying here for another year feel like just a very natural next step. I love reading and cooking and even sometimes sharing meals with friends. I love going to concerts and seeing my favourite artists live, and I also appreciate spending time outdoors, whether it's exploring the city, going on a bike rides to see the sunset or organizing fun and vibey hangouts with friends! Back in Amsterdam, I briefly started going to pilates, which i found surprisingly fun!! I also had a part-time job there which I am planning on continuing in Rotterdam,so apart from uni, i will also work a few days a week!! I have been living with 2 roommates for the past 4 years here in the Netherlands, and we built a great routine and balance when it comes to sharing space. As this is now my fifth year living abroad and sharing housing, I am used to cohabiting respectfully and maintaining a tidy, clean and quiet environment, which obviously includes cleaning up after yourself, sharing chores, but also being transparent with one another! I am genuinely happy when the house feels lively and vibrant and at the same time I also understand when we want to have our quiet moments and privacy.

Hi! My name is Andrea, I am a 25-year-old Italian PhD researcher currently living in Parma, Italy. I have a background in Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Technology, and I am currently doing my PhD in Translational Medical and Surgical Sciences, working in experimental oncology. From November 2026, I will be moving to Amsterdam for an 18-month research period at Amsterdam UMC / Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, where I will continue my research in oncology. My stay is fully funded through my PhD and a research mobility grant, so I am looking for a place where I can settle in and feel at home during my time in the Netherlands. Outside the lab, I am a very active person and I enjoy sports, especially running, cycling and triathlon. I also enjoy travelling, exploring new places and meeting new people. I am generally quiet and tidy, and I really appreciate having a clean and well-maintained home. I don't smoke and I am not a party person.
