Hi everyone! My name is Jacob, I'm 23 years old, and I am moving from Münster, Germany, to beautiful Groningen this upcoming semester to start my Master's degree in International Business and Management at the Rijksuniversiteit. After completing my Bachelor's in Münster, where I also worked for a tech company, I am now really looking forward to my time in the Netherlands. I am looking for a tidy, relaxed living environment where I can feel at home. I would describe myself as an open-minded, clean, and easy-going person. In my free time, I love doing sports; I’ve been a passionate football player since I was 4 years old and also enjoy playing basketball or padel tennis. Additionally, I am enthusiastic about everything related to cooking and coffee! :) My finances are fully secured through my parents. I'm a non-smoker and don't bring any pets. I would absolutely love to find a nice place to live and look forward to hearing from you! Best regards, Jacob

"First find out what you are capable of, then decide who you are." 🌸💛

Hey there! My name is Patrick van Dijk. I am Dutch-Australian, raised on the Gold Coast in Australia with my parents and two sisters in a household where languages, conversation, and curiosity were just part of daily life. Growing up, watching F.R.I.E.N.D.S and Gilmore Girls almost felt like a kind of religious ritual in our house, and Friday nights were often spent having long, slightly too deep conversations about religion, philosophy, or politics (despite none of us really knowing that much about any of these things). It was a home that was warm, talkative, and very full of ideas, but also clean, structured, and responsible. My dad used to vacuum at 7am on Saturdays, which I definitely found irritating as a kid, but it also instilled in me a strong respect for tidy spaces and the idea that household responsibilities are just part of life, even if I personally prefer pushing the vacuuming to a more reasonable Saturday afternoon. I am moving to Leiden in 2026 to begin my Master’s in International Relations at Leiden University, after completing my BA in History and German at the University of Queensland. I speak English natively, German after three years of university study, Dutch at a conversational to semi-fluent level (and I am very motivated to become fully fluent during my time in Leiden), and a little Spanish from a year of study. I genuinely love languages and what they open up socially and culturally, so I am always excited to meet housemates from different backgrounds, learn new words, and understand how other people see the world. During my undergraduate years, I lived in a residential student complex of around 600 students and worked as a Residential Advisor. That experience taught me how to navigate busy shared living environments, support others when needed, and maintain a calm, respectful, and functional community. It also taught me how important it is to lead by example in small, everyday ways such as keeping shared spaces clean, being considerate of others’ routines, and contributing to a positive atmosphere. In a house, I am very social and genuinely enjoy being part of a shared rhythm of life. I like kitchen conversations that turn into long discussions, shared dinners, and spontaneous moments where people actually connect rather than just pass each other. I will absolutely send you stupid reels I find funny, and I am someone who naturally asks questions about people’s lives, families, interests, and goals for the future. I enjoy getting to know people properly, not just at surface level. At the same time, I am very steady and reliable in how I live. I am someone who is perpetually early, sometimes to a fault, and I tend to get deeply focused on what I am doing, often hyperfixating on study or projects. I also have ADHD and some ongoing chronic health issues, which has made me very intentional about pacing myself, building routines, and maintaining balance in how I live day to day to avoid burnout. Because of this, I am quite structured in practice even if I am naturally energetic and curious. What sums me up best is that my ideal Sunday morning is waking up between 7 and 8, making a big breakfast (perhaps poached eggs, spinach, fried mushrooms and sourdough) and slowly easing into the day around the kitchen table. There would usually be reading, news, and conversation if housemates are around. Later I would take a train somewhere new, visit a museum or gallery, have lunch in a café, and spend time journaling or reading. I would bring my camera and spend a few hours wandering and taking photos of everyday life, then ideally end the day watching the sunset somewhere with a glass of wine, before heading home for a cosy dinner and a film, and being in bed by around 10, ready for the week ahead. What I am looking for is a house that feels alive but also grounded. A place where people share moments in the kitchen, respect each other’s space, and take both fun and responsibility seriously in their own way. I am very comfortable in shared living environments and genuinely enjoy contributing to a household both socially and practically, whether that is cooking, cleaning, or simply being an engaged and present housemate.

My name is Jagoda Jeziorowska and I am a second-year International Law student in the Netherlands. I am a highly motivated and ambitious individual who places great importance on academic excellence, personal development, and maintaining a stable and peaceful living environment. I currently work in a healthy food bistro, which reflects my responsible lifestyle and structured daily routine. I am known as a reliable, empathetic, and well-organized person who genuinely cares about the space I live in and treats it with respect. I speak English fluently, have a communicative level of German, and I am currently learning Dutch, as I see my long-term future in the Netherlands. I am legally residing here and fully committed to building my life in this country. Financially, I am stable: I am employed, and my parents are able to act as guarantors. I have a strong track record of consistently paying my rent on time. I am looking for a long-term home where I can fully focus on my studies and continue my development. I would be a calm, responsible, and trustworthy tenant who values both the property and the neighborhood.

Hi! My name is Boris, I'm a 1st-year Applied Mathematics & Data Science student from Bulgaria. I've been living in Amsterdam for 9 months and am looking for a room from early August for the next 3 years - for the duration of my degree. I'm a quiet, tidy tenant who keeps mostly to myself. I respect shared spaces and have no pets. I'm not a party person - I'm more likely to be behind my laptop watching a football game. Financially I'm supported by my family. I can provide 3 months of bank statements showing stable, consistent funds, and my parents are available as a guarantor if needed. I'm flexible on location - Amsterdam and surrounding areas all work for me as long as there's good public transport. Looking for a room (€600-900) or studio (up to €1,200/month). I'm a reliable, long-term tenant and would love to find somewhere I can settle in.

Hello! My name is Maria, I’m 18 years old and will begin my studies at Leiden University, The Hague Campus, this September. I’m very interested in the flat and believe it would be a great fit for me while studying in the Netherlands. I’ve lived quite internationally, and until the end of June I’m attending a Danish folk high school (højskole), which has made me very independent and adaptable. I’m a tidy and respectful person, and I enjoy having a calm and comfortable living environment. Throughout the summer, I will be seeking summer jobs in the Netherlands. I also have a guarantor, so financial stability and rent payments will not be an issue. Thank you for your time, and I hope to hear from you soon. Kind regards, Maria

Looking for a job

Hi! I'm Lilian, I'm 23 years old and a prospective Master student at the University of Amsterdam starting in the fall semester of 2026. I'm looking for housing in and around Amsterdam, from August onwards. I'm an easy-going and organized person, with some flat-sharing experience as I have previously lived in shared student dorms. Overall, I'd say I'm a pretty quiet person, not a huge partier. I like going for walks and runs, swimming, crochet and reading. I love cooking and baking and am happy to share!
