8720 Roommates in Netherlands

Hi everyone. We are a couple, both working, looking for a place to stay for just 1 month (Sep 2026), while we are in between flats. James is American, Hannah is German, we have been living in Amsterdam for about 3 years now. We both work in the office 5 days a week so we are not home during the day, and we will be gone 2 out of 4 weekends in September, so the use of the apartment will be mostly limited to evenings.

We are a family of five who have recently relocated to the Netherlands with a Dutch Startup Visa. We are looking for a safe, quiet, and comfortable home where we can settle and build our new life. I am the founder of a technology startup and will be developing our business in the Netherlands. Since we have just arrived, we do not yet have Dutch payslips, but we can provide proof of our financial resources, residence documents, and any other required information. We are responsible, clean, and respectful tenants. We do not smoke and we do not have pets. We will take excellent care of the property as if it were our own home. We are looking for a long-term rental and can provide a deposit and advance payment if required. We would be happy to introduce ourselves and provide any additional information. Wij zijn Joris en Meike. We zijn allebei opgegroeid in Deventer en wonen mmenteel in Maastricht, waar we allebei hebben gestudeerd. Omdat we graag weer dichter richting ‘huis’ willen wonen, willen we naar Nijmegen verhuizen. Joris gaat na de zomer zeer waarschijnlijk fulltime voor de overheid werken in ’s-Hertogenbosch. Ik werk momenteel bij het Openbaar Ministerie en start binnenkort met mijn master aan de universiteit in Nijmegen. Omdat we beiden veel met het openbaar vervoer reizen, gaat onze voorkeur gaat uit naar een appartement op loopafstand van een station. Wij zijn allebei netjes, rustig en handig. We wonen inmiddels ruim drie jaar in ons appartement in Maastricht en hebben in die tijd nooit hulp van onze huisbaas hoeven vragen, bijvoorbeeld voor reparaties of onderhoud. Wij zoeken dan ook een fijne, rustige plek in Nijmegen die we ons thuis kunnen noemen.

I have been conditionally accepted into Wageningen University. I plan to begin at Wageningen in fall 2027.
