Hey hey! Ik ben Jasmin, 21 jaar oud, kom uit Duitsland en begin vanaf september de bachelor Communication and Information Studies aan de Rijksuniversiteit Groningen. Mijn vader is Nederlands, dus ik spreek ook Nederlands. Afgelopen jaar heb ik in Australië gewoond en gewerkt. Dat was een geweldige ervaring en ik heb er met mensen uit allerlei landen samengewoond. Daardoor voel ik me snel thuis in een nieuw huis en vind ik het leuk om nieuwe mensen te leren kennen. Ik ben een sociaal persoon en houd van concerten, reizen, beachvolleybal en spontaan iets leuks doen met vrienden. Ik vind het gezellig om af en toe samen te eten, een drankje te doen of een spelletje te spelen, maar ik kan ook prima mijn eigen ding doen. Hello, I'm Emilio. I’m 22 years old and will be 23 in May 2026. I was born and raised in Napa, California but have lived in Denver, Colorado for the past 2 years. I have three citizenships, American, Italian and Canadian. I speak English and some Italian, but no Dutch (yet!). I plan on settling into my new home in Amsterdam in June 2026, and will work part-time after getting settled in. I’m willing to rent sooner for the right home to avoid housing chaos. I love travelling and have visited my family in Italy since I was 6 months old. I’m very passionate about non-car centric city planning, which is why I’m going to Amsterdam to study it since I believe they have the best cities in the world. I hope to take that knowledge of the Netherlands and bring it back to the USA to help improve our car-centric cities here. I’m pursuing a Bachelor’s at University of Amsterdam to study Human Geography and Planning, eventually gaining a Masters in a related field. In terms of housing, my preference would be in Amsterdam within a reasonable commute to the Roeterseiland campus, but understand I may need to look further out. I would prefer to live in a private studio, but I’m also open to shared housing. In Denver, I’ve lived with three various other roommates the whole time, and all of us have gotten along very well. I’m very clean and quite quiet, though I do like socializing with my roommates when we’re able to. Having lived with roommates the past 2 years, I’m more than happy to share a space with others and I keep common areas very tidy.
