Hallo, mijn naam is Jonas! Op dit moment ben ik een Technische Natuurkunde bachelor student in mijn afstudeerfase. Ik ben van plan om komend studiejaar middels een 1-jarig schakelprogramma de master Biomedical Engineering aan de TU Twente te gaan volgen. Ik ben een gezellige, relaxte jongen die altijd wel te porren is voor wat gezelligheid. Of dit nou uitgaan, een film kijken of een kaart/bord spel is. In mijn vrije tijd (voor zover ik dat heb) lees, game en spreek ik graag met vrienden af. Op dit moment doe ik aan zelfverdediging (Krav Maga) en boulder ik af en toe. Ik heb ook ruim 10 jaar lang hockey gespeeld en het lijkt me leuk om dit weer opnieuw op te pakken in Enschede. Verder heb ik ook nog enige tijd aan fotografie gedaan en hoop ik hier binnenkort weer tijd en inspiratie (en een werkende camera...) voor te vinden. Een extra verkooppuntje van mijzelf is dat ik al ruim 3 jaar in een restaurant werk, zowel in de afwas als de keuken. Zowel schoonmaken als koken zijn dus dingen die ik zo langzamerhand wel door heb. Dingen een beetje schoon en netjes houden zit er bij mij dus wel goed in. Verder vind ik het ook leuk om nieuwe gerechten en recepten te leren.

Ik ben rustig in huis, werk vaak vanuit huis en ontvang daarom niet vaak mensen thuis, mijn sociale leven speelt zich vooral buitenshuis af. Ik geniet net zo goed van een avondje op de bank met een film en een goed glas wijn. Ik ben op zoek naar een fijne woonplek in Amsterdam/Haarlem. Dat mag tijdelijk zijn of voor langere tijd; beide opties geven mij de ruimte om rustig verder te kijken en een volgende stap te zetten. Het belangrijkste voor mij is een prettige, stabiele plek waar ik me thuis kan voelen. Het lijkt me leuk om kennis te maken en te kijken of er een match is. Hello, I'm Emilio. I’m 22 years old and will be 23 in May 2026. I was born and raised in Napa, California but have lived in Denver, Colorado for the past 2 years. I have three citizenships, American, Italian and Canadian. I speak English and some Italian, but no Dutch (yet!). I plan on settling into my new home in Amsterdam in June 2026, and will work part-time after getting settled in. I’m willing to rent sooner for the right home to avoid housing chaos. I do have savings and allocate my financial resources responsibly. I enjoy playing video games such as Cities: Skylines, and going to many EDM shows. I’m social but not a big partier. I love travelling and have visited my family in Italy since I was 6 months old. I’m very passionate about non-car centric city planning, which is why I’m going to Amsterdam to study it since I believe they have the best cities in the world. I hope to take that knowledge of the Netherlands and bring it back to the USA to help improve our car-centric cities here. I’m pursuing a Bachelor’s at University of Amsterdam to study Human Geography and Planning, eventually gaining a Masters in a related field. In terms of housing, my preference would be in Amsterdam within a reasonable commute to the Roeterseiland campus, but understand I may need to look further out. I would prefer to live in a private studio, but I’m also open to shared housing. In Denver, I’ve lived with three various other roommates the whole time, and all of us have gotten along very well. I’m very clean and quite quiet, though I do like socializing with my roommates when we’re able to. Having lived with roommates the past 2 years, I’m more than happy to share a space with others and I keep common areas very tidy. I’m excited to meet people from around the world and experience my next chapter.
