Vanuit het dorpje in Zeeland waar ik vandaan kom, is het een halve dag reizen met het OV. Gelukkig heb ik op de valreep een kamer kunnen vinden, maar deze is eigenlijk boven mijn budget, ligt buiten de stad en is bovendien tijdelijk. Ik ben dus nog steeds actief op zoek naar een fijne kamer! Iets meer over mij: ik volleybal, ik hou van koken en tekenen en gezelligheid is mijn leven: samen eten, een serie kijken of een avondje stappen! MY PLAN: My fiance and I are in the process of moving to Amsterdam full time, so I’m looking for a temporary apartment/studio/room to rent for a month or two for myself (which will give me time to find a permanent home for us both), then she’ll come and join me. It would be nice to find a permanent home directly, but I’m finding it difficult to do from over here. Which is why I’m coming there to do it ‘in person’. ME: Dual citizenship (Italy/US); spent most of my life in NYC but am currently based in Italy. I’m tidy, quiet, and respectful of others and their things; years of roommate-living in NYC taught me this. On an average day I’ll generally stick to myself, as I’ll be either working online or out and about event planning for work or looking at apartments. With that said though, I’m very open to social interaction, as I’ll be taking every opportunity to get to know the city and its people more! I’ve been there a dozen times these past few years for work or weekends away, so am looking forward to finally living there. MY JOB: Photographer, currently working full time in a remote position with a tech company in the photography industry. Hoi! Mijn naam is Marty en ik ben 37 jaar oud en woon al heel wat jaartjes in Utrecht. Ik ben op zoek naar een nieuwe plek om te wonen in Utrecht, maar sta ook open voor andere opties buiten de stad. Ik werk veel als stagemanager bij poppodia en festivals en daarnaast werk ik ook als freelancer in de culturele sector. In de afgelopen jaren heb ik veel tours met bands gedaan in het buitenland, maar nu doe ik dat nog zelden. Ik ben eigenlijk meer een huismus dan ik had verwacht en vind het heerlijk om thuis te zijn. Mijn huidige lievelingshobby is dan ook tweedehands boekenwinkels afstruinen om de beste vintage sci-fi pareltjes te vinden, en die dan te lezen met een kop oolong thee naast me. Ik schrijf zelf ook af en toe korte verhalen en schilder bijna elke dag. Ik kook graag, alleen of met anderen en kan erg genieten van groepsactiviteiten zoals sporten, wandelen of bordspelletjes. Ik ben ook een erg trotse papa van een ontzettend lief en bijzonder 5 jarig meisje, ze woont bij haar mama in Utrecht en zij is de voornaamste reden dat ik in of vlakbij Utrecht wil blijven wonen.

A bit nerdy, into sports, I like having fun throwing jokes around, but at the same time I enjoy discussing the deepest philosophical questions just as much. I'm ambitious but I would say my greatest qualities are my friendliness and how easy I am to get along with.

Sinds 4 jaar in bezit van een oud moterbootje, Coco. Veel aan opgeknapt en dit voorjaar een meerjaren reis naar Z-Frankrijk gestart. Veel gereisd in mijn leven en de laatste jaren backpackend overwinterd in Azie. Nu echt meer behoefte aan een vaste woonplek. En dan is Nijmegen 'lonely at the top'.
