I am Marjane. I live in Lyon, France and I am preparing for a French/British Baccalaureate with biology and social and economic sciences as my main subjects. I want to study psychology because I’m interested in human behaviors. Later on, I want to mix psychology with cognitive sciences or move to Neuro-psychology. Psychology and biology are my main interests! Outside work I like climbing, volleyball and cycling. Climbing is very much part of our family culture, we often go on climbing holidays with my parents and my brother in the cliffs near Lyon or in the Alps. I cycle to college every day. I also play trumpet in a brass Orchestra. It’s quite fun and a good way to meet nice people. We moved to Lyon when I was 11. Before that we were living in Southampton, UK. It was very cosmopolitan, I grew up with kids from Italy, Latin America, India, Poland etc... This is why I am very excited to study in Leiden to experience this cultural diversity that I enjoyed so much as a kid. Goedendag, Ik ben deeltijd PhD-student aan de Erasmus Universiteit Rotterdam, bij de faculteit filosofie. Ik heb een dubbele nationaliteit, Duits en Zuid-Afrikaans, en woon al ongeveer twee jaar in Gouda (Zuid-Holland). Daarvoor heb ik in Brussel (ongeveer 7 jaar) en in Berlijn (ongeveer 1,5 jaar) gestudeerd en gewerkt. Gouda bevalt me goed, het was perfect om mijn proefschrift te schrijven, maar de verhuurder verkoopt het huis en ik moet dus vóór augustus van dit jaar verhuizen. I like to have meaningful conversations, and enjoy the occasional social event. Overall, however, I prefer a quieter peaceful environment.
