I am a 24-year-old Canadian law student from Toronto. I have been in Groningen since August 2025. I came to Groningen as part of my Canadian University’s partnership with RUG that allowed me to finish my Canadian Juris Doctor degree and enabled me to get an LLM at RUG. As such, currently, I have completed the Juris Doctor degree and am wrapping up my LLM in Law and Technology at the RUG. In Canada, the study of law is exclusively a graduate study. As a result, I also have an Undergraduate Degree from the University of Toronto. Initially, I planned to go back to Toronto for work after the completion of my study in Groningen. However, I have fallen in love with the city and its walkability/cyclability. As a result, I plan to stay in the city for some time and establish a legal career in Europe. Currently, I am in the process of searching for a legal job. In the meantime, I have lined up some part time work to keep up with expenses. Although surprised, my family is supportive of my decision to stay in Groningen and are willing to act as my financial safety net, if needed. I have been paying 800 EUR for my current SSH accommodation and can provide the receipts. Apart from my study and work-based pursuits, I have kept engaged with hobbies in the city including Salsa and Ballroom dancing. I am also a part of the travel association AEGEE and have taken opportunities to travel across 12 European countries. Additionally, I am currently taking Dutch intensive summer classes. I hope to have at least an A2 level proficiency in the language by the end of this summer.

I am a social, energetic individual that cares about education who is respectful, a strong beliver and enforcer of privacy. I also dont drink or smoke and I am trying to find a quiet place to stay in order to prioritise my education in TU/e.

Door een noodsituatie ben ik en mijn 18-jarige dochter op zoek naar een woning vanaf september een woning in Utrecht of omgeving. Ik heb geen probleem om vanaf 1 september te betalen, ook zouden we pas op 9 september verhuizen. We zullen de woning zeker tot eind van het schooljaar nodig hebben, misschien langer (we horen komende week wanneer we weer terug kunnen naar onze definitieve woonplek) en vooruitbetalingen en borg zijn ook geen probleem. We roken en drinken niet, hebben geen huisdier en zijn verder heel rustige mensen.

Hiervoor heb ik Applied Physics gestudeerd in Groningen en daarom ben ik op zoek naar een fijne kamer in Rotterdam of Delft. De afgelopen jaren ben ik actief geweest bij Top Dutch Solar Racing, waar ik samen met het team een zonneauto heb ontwikkeld voor de Bridgestone World Solar Challenge in Australië. Het was een unieke ervaring waar ik met veel plezier op terugkijk. Als huisgenoot ben ik rustig, sociaal en netjes. Ik vind het belangrijk dat de gezamenlijke ruimtes schoon en opgeruimd blijven en draag daar graag mijn steentje aan bij. Daarnaast lijkt het me gezellig om af en toe samen te eten, een drankje te doen of gewoon even bij te praten, terwijl ik het ook prima vind als iedereen zijn eigen ding doet.
