Hi there! My name is Jason, I am 23 years old and I'll be visiting the University of Amsterdam for an Erasmus semester starting August 31st 2026 till January 31st 2027. I am currently living in Konstanz, Germany. I study sociology in my 4th semester now and I also study political science as my minor subject. I would describe myself as a very vibrant and social but also as a very sensitive person. I love engaging with people and to communicate with them, even if they're strangers to me. As I am a student in my home country I already have a lot of experience in living with roommates and how to coordinate everything with them. It's very important for me that everyone gets along with each other so everyone can feel like they're at home. Furthermore, I am very aware of leaving my working spaces clean, e.g. in the kitchen. My studies start on August 31st. It would be ideal for me to move in mid-August but I'd also be able to pay rent beginning August 1st. Financially I am supported by a lot of "programs". I receive student loans in my home country and will also get it for studying abroad. Furthermore, I also get an Erasmus scholarship for studying in Amsterdam. Personally, I used to work as a mailman for two years so I still got a lot of savings left. Additionally, I'm also supported directly by my parents and some family members would try to help as well if something ever happens. If it comes to interests there is a variety of stuff that I engage in! :) I enjoy doing sports, especially swimming. Also, I am very interested in a lot of cultural stuff like museums and festivals that are characteristic for a certain country or community. I also recently started to be very interested in comedy shows and poetry slam but I'm not too deep about that yet. Hoi! Ik ben Ishara, 22 jaar oud, en momenteel bezig met afstuderen in Toegepaste Psychologie. Vanaf september start ik aan een nieuwe bachelor Psychologie aan de Radboud University. Sinds mijn 18e woon ik al op kamers in Nijmegen en inmiddels heb ik hier echt mijn eigen leven opgebouwd. Op dit moment woon ik in een studentenhuis met een vrij zelfstandige kamer (eigen keuken en ongeveer 30m²), maar ik merk dat ik nu toe ben aan een volgende stap: een eigen studio of appartement waar ik wat meer rust en mijn eigen ritme kan hebben. Ik ben erg zelfstandig, rustig en netjes. Ik hou van een schoon huis en ben eerlijk gezegd een beetje een stress-schoonmaker, er gaat dus wekelijks wel een doekje over alles heen en de stofzuiger wordt regelmatig gebruikt 😄. Ik ga niet vaak uit, organiseer geen feestjes en ga respectvol om met mijn woonomgeving. Natuurlijk heb ik soms vrienden of familie over de vloer, maar verder leef ik vrij rustig. In mijn vrije tijd hou ik van lezen, spelletjes spelen, samen eten met vrienden en gewoon gezelligheid opzoeken. Ik zoek vooral een fijne plek waar ik me thuis kan voelen. Omdat ik volledig op mezelf ga wonen, vind ik het ook belangrijk om goed en open contact te hebben met een huisbaas/verhuurder en duidelijke communicatie te hebben met elkaar. Ik hoop een fijne, rustige plek in Nijmegen te vinden waar ik voor langere tijd met plezier kan wonen!
