I'm Justin (he/him), a 26-year-old American composer and violinist moving to The Hague in August 2026 on a Fulbright US Student Grant to study computer music at the Institute of Sonology (Royal Conservatoire). My project involves composing a new work for spatial audio using field recordings from The Hague—so I'll be spending a lot of time with headphones on, not throwing parties :) Looking to move in in mid-August but flexible with the date. I'm quiet, clean, and easygoing—I currently work as a music therapist and teach violin to kids, so I keep fairly regular hours. Outside of music I practice Zen meditation and watch way too many animated shows. I grew up on the East Coast and have lived in New York, New Mexico, and Seattle, so I'm adaptable and used to navigating new cities. I'm looking for a studio or a room in a shared apartment (ideally at least semi-furnished, private or semi-private bathroom) in The Hague or nearby — Delft also works great. Budget €800–1,100/month. My grant is guaranteed funding from the US government, so there are no income concerns. Ik studeer momenteel Pscyhologie aan de UU. Volgend jaar start ik met mijn master Social, Health and Organisational Psychology. Naast mijn studie ben ik werkzaam als projectondersteuner bij een stichting (GBC) die bedrijven verbindt om samen te verduurzamen. Verder ben ik ook werkzaam bij de Albert Heijn als agf-medewerker. In mijn vrije tijd ben ik vaak op de tennisbaan te vinden. Daarnaast hou ik ook van surfen, snowboarden en ben ik geregeld in de natuur te vinden. In de avonden kook en eet ik graag met vrienden en pak ik zo nu en dan een techno feestje mee. Ook draai ik graag zelf thuis of op huisfeestjes. Ik ben samen met mijn vriendin, Lisanne Perdok, opzoek naar een fijn overstapplekje van student naar een vaste plek samen. We hebben al een jaar samen gewoond in een studentenkamer, maar zijn nu opzoek naar een ruimere plek waar we samen een fijne plek van kunnen maken. Lisanne werkt op dit moment niet omdat ze in de afrondende fase zit van haar studie maar is van plan om vanaf september te starten met werken als dierenarts.

Ik werk als verkoopmedewerkster bij een opticien in Arnhem en werk aan een PhD Kunstgeschiedenis aan de Universiteit van Nijmegen.
