(English version below!) Hallo! My name is Mika, and I am a student from Germany who will be starting my Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering at the University of Twente in Enschede this coming fall semester. I am financially supported through both my personal savings and my parents, who are also willing to act as guarantors for any rental agreements. I am very grateful to have their support. A little bit about me as a person: My hobbies include swimming, board games, programming, and video games. I also enjoy a good game of Sudoku or chess whenever I have the time. I chose the Netherlands because of its world-renowned expertise in the field of civil engineering, and I was especially drawn to the University of Twente because of its unique campus environment and highly international student community. I would describe myself as a very responsible and organized person. I take pride in keeping shared spaces clean, cleaning up after myself, and making sure household tasks are completed on time. I believe that being considerate and reliable is an important part of living together. I am currently learning Dutch, although I am not yet at a conversational level. However, since German is my native language, I am optimistic that I will be able to pick it up relatively quickly with some practice and immersion. I would be very happy if you would consider me as a potential future roommate. I look forward to the possibility of meeting you and becoming part of a friendly household! Kind regards, Mika

Hey there! My name is Patrick van Dijk. I am Dutch-Australian, raised on the Gold Coast in Australia with my parents and two sisters in a household where languages, conversation, and curiosity were just part of daily life. Growing up, watching F.R.I.E.N.D.S and Gilmore Girls almost felt like a kind of religious ritual in our house, and Friday nights were often spent having long, slightly too deep conversations about religion, philosophy, or politics (despite none of us really knowing that much about any of these things). It was a home that was warm, talkative, and very full of ideas, but also clean, structured, and responsible. My dad used to vacuum at 7am on Saturdays, which I definitely found irritating as a kid, but it also instilled in me a strong respect for tidy spaces and the idea that household responsibilities are just part of life, even if I personally prefer pushing the vacuuming to a more reasonable Saturday afternoon. I am moving to Leiden in 2026 to begin my Master’s in International Relations at Leiden University, after completing my BA in History and German at the University of Queensland. I speak English natively, German after three years of university study, Dutch at a conversational to semi-fluent level (and I am very motivated to become fully fluent during my time in Leiden), and a little Spanish from a year of study. I genuinely love languages and what they open up socially and culturally, so I am always excited to meet housemates from different backgrounds, learn new words, and understand how other people see the world. During my undergraduate years, I lived in a residential student complex of around 600 students and worked as a Residential Advisor. That experience taught me how to navigate busy shared living environments, support others when needed, and maintain a calm, respectful, and functional community. It also taught me how important it is to lead by example in small, everyday ways such as keeping shared spaces clean, being considerate of others’ routines, and contributing to a positive atmosphere. In a house, I am very social and genuinely enjoy being part of a shared rhythm of life. I like kitchen conversations that turn into long discussions, shared dinners, and spontaneous moments where people actually connect rather than just pass each other. I will absolutely send you stupid reels I find funny, and I am someone who naturally asks questions about people’s lives, families, interests, and goals for the future. I enjoy getting to know people properly, not just at surface level. At the same time, I am very steady and reliable in how I live. I am someone who is perpetually early, sometimes to a fault, and I tend to get deeply focused on what I am doing, often hyperfixating on study or projects. I also have ADHD and some ongoing chronic health issues, which has made me very intentional about pacing myself, building routines, and maintaining balance in how I live day to day to avoid burnout. Because of this, I am quite structured in practice even if I am naturally energetic and curious. What sums me up best is that my ideal Sunday morning is waking up between 7 and 8, making a big breakfast (perhaps poached eggs, spinach, fried mushrooms and sourdough) and slowly easing into the day around the kitchen table. There would usually be reading, news, and conversation if housemates are around. Later I would take a train somewhere new, visit a museum or gallery, have lunch in a café, and spend time journaling or reading. I would bring my camera and spend a few hours wandering and taking photos of everyday life, then ideally end the day watching the sunset somewhere with a glass of wine, before heading home for a cosy dinner and a film, and being in bed by around 10, ready for the week ahead. What I am looking for is a house that feels alive but also grounded. A place where people share moments in the kitchen, respect each other’s space, and take both fun and responsibility seriously in their own way. I am very comfortable in shared living environments and genuinely enjoy contributing to a household both socially and practically, whether that is cooking, cleaning, or simply being an engaged and present housemate.

Hello, My name is Daniel. I am an international student from the Czech Republic, and I will be starting my studies at Breda University of Applied Sciences this upcoming September 2026. I am currently looking for a reliable place to live starting around July or August 2026. As a tenant, I am very tidy, quiet, and respectful of shared spaces and neighbors. I do not smoke and I don’t keep any pets. My main focus will be on my studies, so I am looking for a calm environment where I can focus and keep the property in excellent condition. More than happy to provide reference from my current landlord. If a viewing is required, I can easily arrange this through the BUas Housing Buddy service to have someone visit on my behalf. Thank you very much for your time and consideration. I look forward to hearing from you!

My name is Andreea and I am 20 years old. I am currently living in The Hague, where I moved last year as an EU citizen. I will be starting my Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science in Amsterdam in September 2026, and I am therefore looking for suitable accommodation from August onwards. My preferred move-in date is the 1st of September. At the moment, I live in a shared apartment with two roommates, so I am already used to living independently in the Netherlands and respecting shared living arrangements, house rules, neighbours, and rental responsibilities. I am looking for a quiet and stable place where I can focus on my studies and build a long-term routine in Amsterdam. I am able to provide the necessary documents for the application process, including proof of identity, proof of enrolment/admission, current address details, and any financial documents required. If a guarantor or additional financial confirmation is needed, I would be happy to discuss this as well. A bit about me personally: I am originally from Moldova and also hold Romanian/EU citizenship. I am a creative person and enjoy reading, painting, and artistic activities. I also like socialising in a respectful way and creating a friendly, calm atmosphere at home. I am involved in non-profit youth work, which is an important part of my life and has helped me become organised, responsible, and reliable. I consider myself a respectful and trustworthy tenant. I take good care of the place where I live, communicate clearly, and take rental obligations seriously. I would be happy to arrange a viewing and provide any additional information you may need.
