Hi there! My name is Jason, I am 23 years old and I'll be visiting the University of Amsterdam for an Erasmus semester starting August 31st 2026 till January 31st 2027. I am currently living in Konstanz, Germany. I study sociology in my 4th semester now and I also study political science as my minor subject. I would describe myself as a very vibrant and social but also as a very sensitive person. I love engaging with people and to communicate with them, even if they're strangers to me. As I am a student in my home country I already have a lot of experience in living with roommates and how to coordinate everything with them. It's very important for me that everyone gets along with each other so everyone can feel like they're at home. Furthermore, I am very aware of leaving my working spaces clean, e.g. in the kitchen. My studies start on August 31st. It would be ideal for me to move in mid-August but I'd also be able to pay rent beginning August 1st. Financially I am supported by a lot of "programs". I receive student loans in my home country and will also get it for studying abroad. Furthermore, I also get an Erasmus scholarship for studying in Amsterdam. Personally, I used to work as a mailman for two years so I still got a lot of savings left. Additionally, I'm also supported directly by my parents and some family members would try to help as well if something ever happens. If it comes to interests there is a variety of stuff that I engage in! :) I enjoy doing sports, especially swimming. Also, I am very interested in a lot of cultural stuff like museums and festivals that are characteristic for a certain country or community. I also recently started to be very interested in comedy shows and poetry slam but I'm not too deep about that yet. Ik ben net geslaagd en ben op zoek naar een woning in Groningen. Nu woon ik nog in Almelo dit is vrij ver weg van Groningen, hierdoor ben ik dus op zoek naar een woonplek in Groningen. Graag wil ik een eigen keuken in de woning door mijn interesse in koken, verder zoek ik voor een woning die er net uit ziet. Zelf ben ik sportief, zo ga ik graag naar de sportschool en heb ik zo’n 6 jaar rugby gespeeld. Ik houd van netheid en zal een kamer nooit erger achterlaten dan ik er kwam. Though I am a student and will not be working I will be receiving extensive financial aid through my home university and have a large pool of savings, so I will be able to meet whatever necessary income requirements. I also have a guarantor to assist me, if necessary. When I'm not studying I love to read, watch the NBA (go Lakers!), try new restaurants, and go to the movies. When the weather is nice I like to be outside with a good book or picnic. In a housing environment I like to keep things neat and organized and I am very respectful of other peoples' space/items/sleep, etc. I like to take it easy for the most part during the week, but I also enjoy a night out on the weekend. I am happy to have relaxed social gatherings at home like dinner parties, game nights, or film nights, too. When getting to know new housemates I think choosing a show to watch together, cooking a meal together, or chatting over a card/board game are all great ways to connect. I am a non-smoker and I do not have any pets. I love animals, though I would not be able to have any pets go into my room in a shared accommodation as I have an allergy.
