My name is Fernando Rodríguez Barroso. I am a third-year student at Leiden University, studying International Relations and Organisations (Political Science). Born and raised in Jerez de la Frontera, I am Spanish and lived there until I was 18, when I went to study in the United States for a year. I have been living in The Hague for two years now, but my connection with the Netherlands goes back much further, thanks to a close friendship with a family in Amsterdam that began over eight years ago. I speak Spanish and English fluently, and I already have a good command of Dutch, although I intend to keep improving it until I can speak it with complete fluency. For the time being, I plan to continue studying for my master’s degree in the Netherlands, as I feel very at home in this country and its culture. I consider myself a friendly, sociable and open-minded person who adapts well to new situations. I like to keep things tidy and create an atmosphere where everyone feels comfortable.
