I am looking for a clean, furnished room for the long term, ideally within cycling distance of Zernike Campus. I am tidy, non-smoking and respectful of shared spaces. I am a 24-year-old Canadian law student from Toronto. I have been in Groningen since August 2025. I came to Groningen as part of my Canadian University’s partnership with RUG that allowed me to finish my Canadian Juris Doctor degree and enabled me to get an LLM at RUG. As such, currently, I have completed the Juris Doctor degree and am wrapping up my LLM in Law and Technology at the RUG. In Canada, the study of law is exclusively a graduate study. As a result, I also have an Undergraduate Degree from the University of Toronto. Initially, I planned to go back to Toronto for work after the completion of my study in Groningen. However, I have fallen in love with the city and its walkability/cyclability. As a result, I plan to stay in the city for some time and establish a legal career in Europe. Currently, I am in the process of searching for a legal job. In the meantime, I have lined up some part time work to keep up with expenses. Although surprised, my family is supportive of my decision to stay in Groningen and are willing to act as my financial safety net, if needed. I have been paying 800 EUR for my current SSH accommodation and can provide the receipts. Apart from my study and work-based pursuits, I have kept engaged with hobbies in the city including Salsa and Ballroom dancing. I am also a part of the travel association AEGEE and have taken opportunities to travel across 12 European countries. Additionally, I am currently taking Dutch intensive summer classes. I hope to have at least an A2 level proficiency in the language by the end of this summer.

Hii, ik ben Marli, 18 jaar oud, woon momenteel in Made en ga komend jaar Humane Neurowetenschappen studeren in Nijmegen. Afgelopen jaren besteedde ik mijn vrije tijd graag met vriendinnen; samen shoppen, het terras op, hier en daar een feestje, maar vooral altijd lachen samen! Ook speel ik al ruim 12 jaar volleybal met heel veel plezier en heb ik mijn ervaring hierin gebruikt om de jongste leden training te geven. Thuis vind ik samen avondeten altijd gezellig en hou van een spelletje, maar kan ik ook rustig voor mezelf zorgen. Maar kortom; ik vul graag mijn dagen op met leuke dingen, en dus zeker niet graag met vervoer. Omdat ik volgend jaar vanaf huis 2u heen en 2u terug zal moeten reizen naar Nijmegen, zoek ik een kamer om onder andere deze dingen te kunnen blijven doen! Eigenschappen die vaak aan mij gekoppeld worden door mensen om me heen zijn sociaal, zorgzaam, verantwoordelijk en enthousiast.
