Working

Hi there, After finishing my current work experience as a Guest Experience Expert at the Marriott Hotel in Luxembourg, I will be moving to the Amsterdam in July. I previously lived and studied in the Netherlands, so Dutch life isn't new to me. As a housemate, I'm tidy, considerate and drama-free. I clean up after myself, communicate openly, respect quiet hours, and genuinely enjoy creating a relaxed and friendly home environment. I'm looking for a place where people are respectful, easy-going and where everyone feels at home. I may not be able to cook Michelin-star meals, but I can offer good energy, a great playlist and the common sense to replace the toilet paper before it's gone. So, if that sounds like your kind of housemate, I'd love to meet you!

Dear landlord/agent, My Name is Elias, I am a student from Luxembourg looking to continue my studies in the Netherlands. I am looking for a suitable apartment/studio/room to share with my partner, Sara, who will be studying Global Law in Tilburg University while I will be enrolled in Mechanical engineering at Fontys university in Eindhoven. Our financial situation is very secure as we both have our parents backing us up financially, with my parents making an above average income. On top of that we are also eligible to a student grant from Luxembourg which will give us roughly 1300 euros a month together plus a substantial loan of 5000 euros each, per semester with very low interest rate which we will be able to access in any case. Sara is a meticulous woman who give it her all for her projects, one day she hopes that she will be able to get a master in criminology and pursue her dream of working in crime scenes. I instead, want to prove that I can become an engineer and land myself some of the best jobs in the world to secure a high income and a stress free future. Overall, we are two ambitious people who want to secure themselves a reliable base for our future together and that means we are going to be serious and reliable tenants. You are free to contact whenever you can and we will be happy to hear back from you. Elias and Sara

Jordan

Hi there, my name is Jordan and I am a 29 year old undergraduate student from Los Angeles who will be doing an exchange at Utrecht University from August 2026 to August 2027. I will be studying law & political theory. Though I am a student and will not be working I will be receiving extensive financial aid through my home university and have a large pool of savings, so I will be able to meet whatever necessary income requirements. I also have a guarantor to assist me, if necessary. When I'm not studying I love to read, watch the NBA (go Lakers!), try new restaurants, and go to the movies. When the weather is nice I like to be outside with a good book or picnic. In a housing environment I like to keep things neat and organized and I am very respectful of other peoples' space/items/sleep, etc. I like to take it easy for the most part during the week, but I also enjoy a night out on the weekend. I am happy to have relaxed social gatherings at home like dinner parties, game nights, or film nights, too. When getting to know new housemates I think choosing a show to watch together, cooking a meal together, or chatting over a card/board game are all great ways to connect. I am a non-smoker and I do not have any pets. I love animals, though I would not be able to have any pets go into my room in a shared accommodation as I have an allergy. However, I would be happy to hang out with a pet in the common spaces. Looking forward to hearing from you :)

I am quiet, respectful, tidy, and easy to live with. I value a calm and friendly home environment. I am also happy to meet new people and become part of a welcoming household. I'm very open to new activities and trying fun things with others. I also value a good chill night just at home whether it's just dinner, study sessions or late-night chats. I'm a big art person so I explore a lot of mediums as a hobby, a big crafter! I value a lot female friendships and would love to make friends with people I connect with.

Patrick

Hey there! My name is Patrick van Dijk. I am Dutch-Australian, raised on the Gold Coast in Australia with my parents and two sisters in a household where languages, conversation, and curiosity were just part of daily life. Growing up, watching F.R.I.E.N.D.S and Gilmore Girls almost felt like a kind of religious ritual in our house, and Friday nights were often spent having long, slightly too deep conversations about religion, philosophy, or politics (despite none of us really knowing that much about any of these things). It was a home that was warm, talkative, and very full of ideas, but also clean, structured, and responsible. My dad used to vacuum at 7am on Saturdays, which I definitely found irritating as a kid, but it also instilled in me a strong respect for tidy spaces and the idea that household responsibilities are just part of life, even if I personally prefer pushing the vacuuming to a more reasonable Saturday afternoon. I am moving to Leiden in 2026 to begin my Master’s in International Relations at Leiden University, after completing my BA in History and German at the University of Queensland. I speak English natively, German after three years of university study, Dutch at a conversational to semi-fluent level (and I am very motivated to become fully fluent during my time in Leiden), and a little Spanish from a year of study. I genuinely love languages and what they open up socially and culturally, so I am always excited to meet housemates from different backgrounds, learn new words, and understand how other people see the world. During my undergraduate years, I lived in a residential student complex of around 600 students and worked as a Residential Advisor. That experience taught me how to navigate busy shared living environments, support others when needed, and maintain a calm, respectful, and functional community. It also taught me how important it is to lead by example in small, everyday ways such as keeping shared spaces clean, being considerate of others’ routines, and contributing to a positive atmosphere. In a house, I am very social and genuinely enjoy being part of a shared rhythm of life. I like kitchen conversations that turn into long discussions, shared dinners, and spontaneous moments where people actually connect rather than just pass each other. I will absolutely send you stupid reels I find funny, and I am someone who naturally asks questions about people’s lives, families, interests, and goals for the future. I enjoy getting to know people properly, not just at surface level. At the same time, I am very steady and reliable in how I live. I am someone who is perpetually early, sometimes to a fault, and I tend to get deeply focused on what I am doing, often hyperfixating on study or projects. I also have ADHD and some ongoing chronic health issues, which has made me very intentional about pacing myself, building routines, and maintaining balance in how I live day to day to avoid burnout. Because of this, I am quite structured in practice even if I am naturally energetic and curious. What sums me up best is that my ideal Sunday morning is waking up between 7 and 8, making a big breakfast (perhaps poached eggs, spinach, fried mushrooms and sourdough) and slowly easing into the day around the kitchen table. There would usually be reading, news, and conversation if housemates are around. Later I would take a train somewhere new, visit a museum or gallery, have lunch in a café, and spend time journaling or reading. I would bring my camera and spend a few hours wandering and taking photos of everyday life, then ideally end the day watching the sunset somewhere with a glass of wine, before heading home for a cosy dinner and a film, and being in bed by around 10, ready for the week ahead. What I am looking for is a house that feels alive but also grounded. A place where people share moments in the kitchen, respect each other’s space, and take both fun and responsibility seriously in their own way. I am very comfortable in shared living environments and genuinely enjoy contributing to a household both socially and practically, whether that is cooking, cleaning, or simply being an engaged and present housemate.

Hello! My name is Maria, I’m 18 years old and will begin my studies at Leiden University, The Hague Campus, this September. I’m very interested in the flat and believe it would be a great fit for me while studying in the Netherlands. I’ve lived quite internationally, and until the end of June I’m attending a Danish folk high school (højskole), which has made me very independent and adaptable. I’m a tidy and respectful person, and I enjoy having a calm and comfortable living environment. Throughout the summer, I will be seeking summer jobs in the Netherlands. I also have a guarantor, so financial stability and rent payments will not be an issue. Thank you for your time, and I hope to hear from you soon. Kind regards, Maria

I am very honest and sociable, and I enjoy spending time and talking to other people. I am very active, and I enjoy going to the gym, playing football, and doing all kinds of sports and activities with people. At the same time, I don't invade other people's personal space and fully respect people's boundaries. My living expenses are financially supported by my parents, and I have a stable monthly budget for rent and living costs.

Hi, I am Sören, 20 years old and from Germany will study International Studies in Den Haag. About me: I have a passion for anything related to music. I love playing the saxophone or the piano, going to concerts and to be inspired by the people around me what music to listen to. Apart from that I love to travel and spent the 2 year after finshing highschool first on a 8 month trip in Costa Rica, Panama and Nicaragua and then on a 4 month trip in Japan and South Korea. The pictures were all taken there. Cooking, playing volleyball, playing poker and beeing a movie nerd are some side-quests I also like to do in my free time. I also really like to have a community and go into deep conversations as well as on fun adventures with the people I live together with. I come to Den Haag especially to be part of the international community and to have a great time with people from all over the world. Thanks for reading!!
