Ik ben Julie, 19 jaar en tweedejaars student Gezondheidswetenschappen aan de UT. Ik ben op zoek naar een gezellig studentenhuis in Enschede waar er altijd wel iemand is om mee te kletsen, te eten, een drankje te doen of gewoon gezellig op de bank te hangen! In mijn vrije tijd ben ik graag actief. Ik volleybal bij studentenvereniging Harambee, ga regelmatig hardlopen en vind het ook super leuk om te surfen. Daarnaast ben ik altijd in voor een terrasjes pakken of spontane plannen. Ik ben sociaal en vind het juist gezellig als een huis ook echt als een huis voelt. Samen eten, een huisavondje, spelletjes doen, borrelen of af en toe iets leuks ondernemen vind ik gezellig. Tegelijkertijd vind ik het ook belangrijk dat iedereen lekker z’n eigen leven en bezigheden heeft, met genoeg ruimte voor eigen vrienden, studie en andere dingen.

Ik ben Joost, 24 jaar, studeer/woon momenteel in Delft, en kom de komende twee jaar een master natuurkunde studeren in Enschede. Ik ben lekker actief, open en energiek, dit zie je terug in dat ik de afgelopen jaren veel commissies heb gedaan en dit jaar actief was bij meerdere verenigingen. Dit jaar was ik actief bij de zeilvereniging, improvisatie theater groep, en ultimate frisbee vereniging. Ook hardlopen of een echt goede breinkraker vind ik heel leuk. Thuis ben ik juist vaak rustiger. Als ik bij jullie kom wonen is dit ook wat ik meeneem, rust en intresse afgewisseld met enthousiasme. Ik kan zowel uitgebreid als simpel/efficient koken en haal echt veel plezier uit baksels maken voor anderen (dit is echt zo, m'n frisbeeteam kan het beamen). Ik ben ook niet vies van klusjes doen, zo zit er scouting in mijn bloed en heb ik 6 jaar lang kinderen gemotiveerd om te genieten van het buitenleven. In een huis zoek ik een plek waar ik mijn ei kwijt kan, waar ik lekker kan yappen met huisgenoten maar ook tot rust kan komen. Ik kijk er naar uit om jullie te leren kennen.

Hi! My name is Andrew, I’m 23 years old and I’m from Romania. I’ll be starting Artificial Intelligence at Radboud University, and I came across your post about the room. I’m currently looking for somewhere in Nijmegen where I can properly settle in and feel at home, ideally for a long time. For the past three years I’ve lived either on my own or in shared housing, so I’m already quite used to sharing a home with other people. In previous houses we coordinated chores and shared responsibilities between us, and I’ve found that things work best when everyone simply communicates and does their part. I also spent part of the last few months travelling in the United States, where I lived with my girlfriend for a while. It was another good experience of sharing a home and adapting to someone else’s routines and way of doing things. Most of my hobbies tend to take place at home. I’m interested in technology and like working on personal projects, gaming, watching movies and learning new things. At the moment I’m teaching myself Spanish, and once I’m settled in Nijmegen I’d also like to pick up piano lessons again. I enjoy cooking as well. I’m obviously familiar with Romanian food, so I’d be very happy to introduce my housemates to some of it at some point. Romanian cuisine is actually quite diverse, even though I’ve noticed that not many people outside Romania know much about it. I’d also like to get back into sports while I’m in Nijmegen. I played handball for several years, and I’d definitely be interested if anyone in the house is into sports or looking for someone to join them. In general, I like having some structure in my week. I tend to organize my time so that I can give enough attention to university, my hobbies and the people in my life without constantly having to sacrifice one for another. When it comes to living together, I’d like to be in a house where people actually know each other and feel comfortable spending time together naturally. At the same time, I understand that everyone has their own schedule, studies and need for personal space. This will also be my first time living in Nijmegen, so I’m really looking forward to discovering the city and what there is to do there. It would be nice to experience some of that together with the people I live with rather than only getting to know Nijmegen through university. I don’t smoke, and I’m looking for somewhere that I can genuinely treat as my home during my studies rather than just a temporary room. One practical thing I wanted to ask is whether registration at the address is possible. I plan to work alongside my studies while living in Nijmegen, so being able to register at the address is important for me. I’m not in Nijmegen at the moment, but I can travel there in person as soon as possible for a viewing. If that works for you, I’d be very happy to come by, see the room and introduce myself properly. I’m a fairly introverted person who enjoys his peace and privacy, but I also really value meaningful conversations and hanging out over a cup of tea or some food. I expect to be pretty busy with my studies and work, but in my free time, I enjoy reading, swimming, biking, (should also say working out, but I'm usually too lazy to do that), and watching some tennis or ice hockey. My biggest passion, though, is travelling and discovering new places, cultures, and cuisines.
