Hi, I'm Dominik. In June I was admitted to study Computer Science at Saxion University and started organizing my new life as a first year student in Enschede looking for accommodation. I come from a multicultural family - my mother is of Slovak origin and my father is of Colombian origin, so I have both nationalities and I have applied in Saxion University with my Slovak nationality, although I currently reside with my family in the capital of Colombia, Bogota. I am 17 years old and I have just finished my secondary school in Bogota, but very soon I will turn 18 and I consider myself mature enough to move away from my family and embark on a new path at Saxion University. In my multicultural family I have learned since I was little to travel a lot and enjoy adventures of all kinds. From a very young age I have started racing swimming training and today I am the performance swimmer affiliated with the Swimming Federation of Colombia and also of Slovakia. I hope to continue with this hobby also in Holland, since I like sports in general. Outside of sports, perhaps like most young people of my age, I like music and video games. I come from very far away (Colombia) and I have faith that living this way I will be able to adapt much easier to my new life and make lasting friendships with mutual support. Being an athlete since I was little, I am used to sharing with my peers and providing support when required, I am a friendly and social person. Coming from a multicultural family I think I was raised to be respectful and open-minded. Hi :) I will be starting my Robotics Masters at TU Delft next semester and am looking for a nice room as soon as possible! In my free time I like to do sports, occasionally cook and bake (I make really great banana bread, so no brown bananas get wasted in my household) and I am learning to play the bass guitar right now. I did my Bachelors in the South of Germany, plus a semester abroad in South Korea. I have lived alone, in a flat with roommates and in a shared dorm room, so I am pretty uncomplicated. But I would prefer to live with cool, sociable flatmates! I am learning Dutch right now, but since I know German and English, I would say I understand quite a bit already :D As a reference, I would like to quote my old roommate Nico: „She is the best roommate you could ever find“. In mijn vrije tijd kijk ik graag films, thuis of in de bioscoop, game ik en speel ik korfbal. Ik zou mezelf omschrijven als een sociaal persoon en vind samen eten en af en toe iets doen in huis leuk, maar ik waardeer tegelijkertijd ook rust en mijn eigen ruimte.
