About the place

Hi!

I am currently on exchange in England and have decided to extend my stay. I am therefore looking for a house sitter for my lovely home in Groningen for the period 19 January 2026 until 28 February 2026.

The property is a studio owned by housing corporation Lefier, which allows someone else to live there temporarily under a house sitter arrangement ("huisbewaarderschap"). The rental contract between Lefier and me will remain in place: I will stay the official tenant and continue to pay the rent to Lefier. We will of course also draw up an official house sitter agreement together. More information about this arrangement can be found on Lefier’s website.

The studio is fully furnished and equipped with everything you need. You will have the space entirely to yourself, except for the two washing machines and the dryer, which are shared with the floor (16 residents in total). The location is ideal: within walking distance of the city centre and the train station, with two supermarkets just a 5-minute walk away. Zernike Campus is a 15-minute bike ride, and the UMCG about 10 minutes.

There is an advance payment of €55 for water board and municipal taxes. If I receive a (partial) tax waiver for these charges, I will refund the amount proportionally.

I am very happy with my home and would like someone to live there who will take care of it just as well as I do. The building is quiet and residents generally do not cause disturbance, so this place is not suitable for someone who enjoys hosting parties regularly. I am looking for a non-smoker, someone who has lived independently before, and who is either further along in their studies or already working.
