Hey, room seeker! We’re Huize X, and we’re looking for a new housemate (M/F/X)—and maybe that’ll be you! We’re a mixed-gender (SSR/Catena/Sempre Crescendo) house of nine (five women and four men). What we offer: a 13-square-meter room in a beautiful monastery in the quiet southern part of Leiden, about a ten-minute bike ride from downtown. Across from the house is the beautiful Cronesteyn Park, and there’s a large, peaceful garden. A cozy atmosphere, weekly house dinners, Christmas dinners, Easter brunches, house parties, “tour de chambres,” house outings, but also quiet mornings in the common room, “movie-and-wine nights,” spontaneous study sessions, and games in the common room or on the rooftop terrace—so there’s something for everyone. What we’re looking for: a new housemate who’d love to join in on all this! If you’re a first-year student coming to study in Leiden and looking for a room, don’t hesitate to send us a message on Kamernet introducing yourself—including your age, major, hobbies, etc.—and you might just be invited to the open house in a week and a half (the exact date will be shared with you then). The room will be available starting around early August. It’s about 13 square meters and feels quite spacious thanks to the high ceilings and large, beautiful windows.
The rent is about 700 euros (minus about 250 euros in housing allowance) per month, including gas, water, and electricity, plus 10 euros per month for internet, coffee, and cleaning supplies. Internationals are welcome!
