About the place

I'm Maarten (24) and I'm looking for a housemate for my place on the Herengracht, right in the centre of Leiden. Canal house with high ceilings, wooden floors and a small boat moored out front.

The room
23 m² on the top floor, with wooden beams, daylight and your own little roof terrace for a beer in the evening. Above the room is a sleeping loft for your bed, leaving the whole room below free for living and working. Unfurnished, so you can make it entirely your own.

What you share (with me only)
About 75 m² of shared space: a large living room overlooking the canal, kitchen and bathroom with a bathtub. Shared spaces are furnished. Washing machine and bike storage available.

Practical
€950 per month all-in (rent, utilities, internet)
No deposit
Registration at the address (BRP) is possible
Available from somewhere between 10 September and 1 October, flexible

About me
24, building my own company and pretty busy with it, so I'm not home that often. When I am home, I like it cosy and calm: cooking together, a beer on the terrace, a good conversation. Big parties and a lot of commotion in the house are fine, just not too often.

Who I'm looking for
Someone between 22 and 30 (preference, not a requirement), working or about to finish studying. You happily do your own thing but you're good company when we're both home, you're tidy, and you can cook (so can I, so that'll be fun). Man or woman, Dutch or English speaking: all fine. Most important is that you enjoy that mix of calm and good company as much as I do.

I'll read the messages until I have five people I'd like to meet. I'll invite those five for a one-hour beer, and then I'll pick one housemate. No viewing rounds, no waiting list.
