Sharing a spacious (190 m2) and very attractive apartment with a friendly and interesting couple on the Kloveniersburgwal, in the heart of the old city. This is a unique opportunity, the place as well as the price and the co-living on offer.

THE FLAT	

This home is a high-end duplex apartment. It occupies the top 2 floors of a double canal house built in the early 1600’s. Lots of windows, plenty of light and exceptional views on both sides. Recently renovated to a high standard and fully furnished.

The 2 floors in our apartment were designed to be clearly separate, with excellent sound insulation in between. As a result, you can always enjoy being in a quieter space on the top floor.

Your bedroom: 
On the upper floor, 20m2, nicely furnished, calm, with 3 south-east facing windows that give an attractive view over a classic Amsterdam roofscape.

AREA

Hyper central and convenient, with short distances to many places, such as a 2’ walk to UvA (Bushuis) and the metro (Nieuwmarkt). Great cafés, bars and restaurants in the immediate surroundings. 

PRICE

We’ve set it at a level substantially lower than the market value. This is due to our main motivation, which is not the rental income but the sharing in and of itself. To optimise our chances of finding the right person to share with, we want to make sure that the price is not an obstacle, regardless of age or profession. 

In this spirit, the price advertised is also relatively flexible. If you like the offer as a whole, please do get in touch with us, whatever your financial capacity. We can discuss it and find a price level that works. 

Vice versa, our offer would seem better suited to someone looking for long-term accommodation, at least 12 months or an academic year and ideally more.

For the same reason, the room is not immediately accessible. It will be important to make time to get to know each other first, for your own benefit as well as ours. It’s a matter of building mutual trust and confidence about being a good match.

ABOUT US

International couple, happily married, no children. In Amsterdam for over 8 years and here for the long term, level of Dutch already good (C1) and getting better. Fun, easy going and respectful. Keen on enjoying a deeper connection.

She is a global leader in the sustainability space. He is the driver of The Intimate Intelligence Project, which we started together and are both passionate about. 

We’d be happy to share an online introduction to this project (which you can easily find via a quick search) as well as a longer PDF presentation. 

It involves a series of social occasions (e.g. discussion groups, movie nights, …) that we organise at home for younger people (mostly early 20’s to early 30’s), around one central theme: the evolution of intimate relationships and families in the 21st century. 

WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR

One or two people. In the latter case, the nature of your relationship does not matter (e.g. couple or friends) so long as it does not make you closed to other people. 

We don’t have a particular profile in mind, other than a few fundamentals: considerate and tidy, open and engaging, alive to others and new ideas.

A couple of more specific aspects will be essential:

They are a big part of our private life, through daily conversations and so on. And they involve other people at home, where most events are held.
