Bijlmer Arena train and metro station is within walking distance of the complex and the bus stop in front of the door and you are at Amsterdam Central Station in about 15 minutes. You can reach Amsterdam-Centrum in about 25 minutes by bike. There is a lot of greenery in the area, including: the Nelson Mandela Park, sports complex with swimming pool, Bijlmerweide and Gaasper Park.
