About the place

I have been hosting guests for more than eight years
My home is located in the beautiful historic centre of Alkmaar, right by the water. It is a modern and comfortable house spread over four floors. On the ground floor you will find the kitchen

The house is located alongside a beautiful canal with houseboats nearby. At the back of the house there is a sunny south facing garden. When I am not using it myself, you are welcome to relax there and enjoy the peaceful surroundings.

I love traveling myself, so I know how important it is to feel comfortable and welcome when staying somewhere. In my free time, you’ll often find me on the water or at the beach. I enjoy boating, surfing, wing foiling and staying active.

I like to keep my home clean, tidy and relaxed. I especially enjoy hosting respectful, easygoing guests who appreciate the area, spend time exploring, and enjoy their own activities.

You’re welcome to use the kitchen during your stay. As I also live in the house, I appreciate a good balance between being friendly and respecting each other’s privacy. In my experience, this creates the best atmosphere and makes everyone feel at home.
A few practical notes

Please remove your shoes when entering the house.

The stairs can be slippery, so please be careful when walking up and down.

The interior doors can close quite firmly, so please close them gently.

Please take a moment to read the house rules before your stay. They help keep the house comfortable and enjoyable for everyone.

House Rules

To help everyone enjoy a comfortable stay, I kindly ask you to follow these house rules:

Please remove your shoes when entering the house.
No smoking or vaping inside the house. I also kindly ask you not to smoke in the garden or in front of the house, out of respect for my neighbours.
Quiet hours are from 10:00 PM. Please keep noise to a minimum, both inside the house and in the garden.
If you use the kitchen, please leave it clean and tidy after use.
No drugs are allowed anywhere on the property.
Please drink responsibly. Excessive alcohol consumption is not permitted.
Only registered guests are allowed in the house. Please do not invite additional visitors or overnight guests.
Please treat my home with the same care and respect you would treat your own.
