Hi! I'm Oleksandr (Alex), an 18-year-old international student moving from Greece to Eindhoven this September to start my Bachelor's in Computer Science and Engineering at TU/e. I'm looking for a stable, long-term room where I can settle in comfortably for the duration of my studies. I'd describe myself as calm, tidy, and respectful of shared spaces and other people's privacy. My days are mostly structured around lectures, studying, and personal coding projects. I'm not someone who throws parties or makes a lot of noise, however in my free time I do enjoy bouldering, running, or hanging out with friends to stay active. I don't smoke and don't have any pets. I'm happy to furnish the room myself if needed, and I have no issue sharing kitchen, bathroom, or other common facilities with housemates. I can provide proof of enrollment at TU/e, a parental guarantee, and proof of financial support if needed. Paying rent on time and taking good care of the property are very important to me, as I want this to be a place I can live peacefully in during my studies. I am looking forward to hearing from you!

I am a 24-year-old Canadian law student from Toronto. I have been in Groningen since August 2025. I came to Groningen as part of my Canadian University’s partnership with RUG that allowed me to finish my Canadian Juris Doctor degree and enabled me to get an LLM at RUG. As such, currently, I have completed the Juris Doctor degree and am wrapping up my LLM in Law and Technology at the RUG. In Canada, the study of law is exclusively a graduate study. As a result, I also have an Undergraduate Degree from the University of Toronto. Initially, I planned to go back to Toronto for work after the completion of my study in Groningen. However, I have fallen in love with the city and its walkability/cyclability. As a result, I plan to stay in the city for some time and establish a legal career in Europe. Currently, I am in the process of searching for a legal job. In the meantime, I have lined up some part time work to keep up with expenses. Although surprised, my family is supportive of my decision to stay in Groningen and are willing to act as my financial safety net, if needed. I have been paying 800 EUR for my current SSH accommodation and can provide the receipts. Apart from my study and work-based pursuits, I have kept engaged with hobbies in the city including Salsa and Ballroom dancing. I am also a part of the travel association AEGEE and have taken opportunities to travel across 12 European countries. Additionally, I am currently taking Dutch intensive summer classes. I hope to have at least an A2 level proficiency in the language by the end of this summer.
