Hi! I'm Yaren, I moved to the Netherlands last year and have been working at the MPI for almost a year now, so I think it is safe to say that I have grown accustomed to the culture and the way of living here. I consider myself to be a clean, social and warm person (amidst all the rain!) :) I am a vegetarian who loves to cook (I make really mean dumplings!), bake and sing and a typical week for me is mostly working/studying but I also like going out for long walks and grabbing a couple drinks with friends. Even though I like going to parties every once in a while, I wouldn't say I'm a big party person.

Hey hey, leuk dat je dit leest! Ik ben Rick, 17 jaar (bijna 18, nog een kleine drie weken). Ik zit in nu Hilversum op school en ga over een maandje examen doen voor gymnasium. Ik woon in Soest, dit ligt tussen Hilversum en Amersfoort. Vanaf september wil ik graag rechten gaan studeren aan de Rug, en als master denk ik privaat- of strafrecht, maar dat duurt nog wel even. Ik wil denk ik bij een studentenvereniging geen idee welke, suggesties zijn zeker welkom. Ik speel waterpolo en doe aan fitness, ik houd van zwemmen, koken (mijn lasagne is grandioos, al zeg ik het zelf), reizen, sporten en uitgaan. In Groningen lijkt het mij leuk om deel te nemen aan waterpolo/rugby/roei -team, en ik blijf ook fitness doen. Ik werk nu als lifeguard bij bosbad Amersfoort en ik werk ook bij de karwei. Verder ben ik een rustige behulpzame jongen maar ik houd zeker wel van een feestje. Ik zoek een kamer in een gezellig huis, ik kan per direct al huren. Hoewel ik pas in juni/juli zal intrekken in het huis aangezien ik nu vlak voor mijn examens zit :) Groetjes Rick

Ik kom uit een dorp bij Tilburg, maar ben inmiddels bijna een half jaar woonachtig in Nijmegen. Ik woon nu tijdelijk samen met twee andere studenten in een gedeeld appartement bij SSHN. Hi! My name is Olivia. I am 20 years old and from Copenhagen Denmark. I am 20 (almost 21) years old, and I am really excited to be starting my studies at Leiden University Den Haag in International Relations and Organisations this fall. WHAT I AM LOOKING FOR I am looking for a room to rent a room from the beginning of the academic year (around late August/start September. I am flexible with dates) until the end of the academic year (late June/early July). ABOUT ME:)) I am a product of the self-proclaimed vegetarian cool kids of Copenhagen. I love talking about movies and books. I am very interested in politics, hence why I wanted to move abroad to be able to study in Den Haag. I am a dedicated student, and I intend to take my studies very seriously. I am tidy and enjoy cooking yummy meals. I have a sneaky little plan to start making my own hummus when I move to the Netherlands. In my free time, I like to do yoga and go to gigs. I like staying active by running and hiking. I would say that I am quite easy going and flexible, and I enjoy living with other people. While I am in the Netherlands, I plan on learning to at least understand, but hopefully also speak Dutch. I think, that now that I plan on being in the Netherlands for three years, it would be amazing to be able to properly immerse myself in the country. I graduated high school in the summer of 2022, and I have been travelling since. I spent one year backpacking through the Balkans, Caucasus, Nepal, India, South East Asia, Taiwan and Hong Kong. After that I was so tired, but not ready to go back to Europe, so I spent 6 months living and working in Melbourne, Australia with my sibling. I worked as a waiter and a bartender. While living in Melbourne I lived in a couple different rental houses. I loved living with my room mates and sharing our everyday. I am quite tidy and outgoing, so I enjoy living in a shared space. While in Australia, I have also worked on constructing a building exclusively out of natural materials on an old-school hippie retreat, taken care of 73 unruly huskies on an isolated mountain farm and worked at a hostel in the red-earth centre of Australia. FINANCIALS I get a monthly student support from the Danish government of about €850 that will cover my rent. I intend to work on the side while studying.
